The State of Canada’s Birds is meant to be useful and usable for any formal work or publication. Both the species accounts and reports are versioned, meaning that as new versions are released, old versions will be archived and remain available so your references will never go out of date. Each version of the accounts and report are assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring a stable link to the material will always exist.
Recommended citations are available at the bottom of the report and every species account, and each citation contains the relevant DOI. These citations should accompany any use of, or reference to, the material, including the use of any of the available graphics. Proper citation ensures we are able to track the use and impact of the State of Canada’s Birds, and bring the resource to an ever larger audience.
