Before you can submit data to a project using the app, you must register as a participant for that project. Registration allows your project coordinator to associate you with your data, and to communicate with you about the project. You can register for a project on the NatureCounts website, and in many cases, in the app.

To register for a project on the website, navigate to that project’s web portal. You can find the portals for all projects on the Projects page of the NatureCounts website. Sign in using your NatureCounts account. On the right-hand side of the page, you will see an option to register for the project. Click ‘Click Here’.

The following page will ask you to confirm your desire to register and agree to the terms and conditions. Once your registration has been approved by the project coordinator, you will receive an email with information on how to proceed.

To register for a project on the app, open the app and sign in using your NatureCounts account. on the Settings tab, tap ‘Manage Projects’. Under My Projects you will see all projects for which you are currently registered.

To find a new project, tap ‘All Projects’ and locate the project you’re looking for in the list. You may select a region to narrow your search by tapping the hamburger button (three little lines) in the upper right corner. Tap on your project of interest, then tap ‘Join Project’. You may be prompted to answer questions or provide additional information.

For some projects, registration is immediate. If this is the case, the project will appear under My Projects and you will be able to download it right away. To do this, simply tap on the project name and tap ‘Download’ beside the region in which you will submit data.

Other projects require registration approval from a project coordinator. If this is the case, the project will appear in My Projects under Pending. You will receive an email notification when your registration is approved, at which point you will be able to download the project and submit data.
